J-2 Dependent Visa
It may be possible for you to bring your spouse and/or children with you to the United States for the duration of your training. If you are considering bringing your spouse and/or children to the US with you, you must submit a letter from your host company confirming their awareness of your request. It is also necessary that you show proof of sufficient funds to cover living expenses for you and your family, as well as for airfare and health insurance for the J-2 Dependent(s) for the duration of your training.
Any spouse or child/children approved to accompany you on a J-2 visa are required to obtain health insurance through Pan Atlantic. Health insurance must meet US Department of State mandated requirements. Failure to maintain an insurance policy meeting these requirements will have negative consequences on eligibility to remain in the US.
Additional fees for processing J-2 visa documentation and insurance costs will apply.
J-2 visa holders may be subject to the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act requirements may exceed the Department of State insurance requirements.
If this is a matter you are considering please make sure to notify Pan Atlantic as early as possible.
